A tranquil, watercolour boat scene features on this Psalm 23 Get Well Card, 'The Lord is my Shepherd' and is a lovely card to send in support of friends and family members.
This verse is always popular, whether on a Christian Birthday Card or a Thinking of You Card. On a Christian Get Well Card it is appropriate to send for both genders, and again, for those dealing with terminal illness or just a bout of man flu! Just to send a card of support in times of illness and recovery can make all the difference to someone not feeling great.
From fresh green images of nature to bright florals and coastal scenes, there will be a card for all ages and tastes in our secure UK Christian Cards online Store.
We've all been ill in some form or another at one stage in our lives. Whether the worst cold ever to food poisoning to straining our backs whilst doing some heavy lifting in the garden. Many of us have felt the pain of back injuries! From the most minor ailment that distresses us to the more severe diseases, just receiving a card can give us such a lift that it is more than just a piece of paper. It is a heartfelt connection that says 'I feel your pain and want you to know that you are not alone.' And somehow, Christian Get Well cards seem to offer that support more than a general greeting card.
Words of faith with the right Scripture quote can be so nurturing and supportive that the sentiment seems to encompass us on some emotional level. Like an invisible hug, a spiritual warmth that seems to exude from the words, and make us feel cared for, loved and uplifted. Some Scripture quotes can make us feel empowered, whether facing illness or loss or just a stressful work situation with a difficult boss!
'I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me.'
Philippians 4:13
This is such an empowering statement. It makes you feel you can overcome anything. We have used this Scripture quote in many of our Christian Get Well cards and on an Inspirational card. But it is also appropriate for those dealing with terminal illness. Finding the will to bear their burden whilst seeing the effect it has on their nearest and dearest too means they have to find all the strength they can muster. But knowing they are not alone will ease that burden. As Jesus also said:
'Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest.'
Matthew 11:28
A Christian Get Well card sent just at the right moment can have such a positive effect and aid someone's recovery more speedily. Just to know that they are in someone's thoughts and prayers can help a person realise that they are not forgotten, and that spiritual support can make such a difference, especially if someone is on their own and feeling lonely and isolated. Sometimes, even if a person lives in a household with other family members, just having to deal with a difficult illness might make them feel they are on their own, that only they know how it feels to carry such a difficult burden which can also make them feel isolated.
'Even if I go through the deepest darkness, I will not be afraid, Lord, for you are with me.'
This line from Psalm 23 is always such a positive statement, full of loving support. Even if at times, we think we are on our own physically, then our faith is always there to comfort and guide us and remind us that we are not on our own. We use Psalm 23 on many of our cards, using the full verse on the fronts of the cards incorporated into the design. Sending someone a card with this verse on can be so uplifting.
There are so many ways a Christian Get Well card can really make a difference to someone's day. If someone has broken a bone then 'get well' wording might not be quite so appropriate. After all, they are not ill per se but their struggle can be just as hard to bear, again, especially if they live alone. On our 'Road To Recovery' cards we like to use the Scripture quote below, as it can be so appropriate for those dealing with broken bones who might be feeling frustrated that they can't just 'get on' and do everything they did, the same as before their accident.
'May you be made strong . . . . so that you may be able to endure everything with patience.
Colossians 1:11-12
Whatever illness, disease or recovery a person is going through then choosing the right card will surely be an uplifting gesture that will be so appreciated and quite possibly brighten up a dark day.
